IN BRIEF: Rotala wins leave to appeal for Manchester franchising case

ALN

Rotala PLC - bus operations at Heathrow airport and in West Midlands and North West - UK Court of Appeal grants leave to appeal in ongoing bus franchise matter in Manchester. Matter concerns the judicial review of how a consultation in bus franchising in Manchester was carried out in 2021. In March, Justice Julian Knowles ruled against Rotala, who claimed the process was ‘unlawful’. Knowles had refused to give Rotala leave to appeal at that time. The company since sought permission at the Court of Appeal, and has now been granted leave to appeal ‘certain aspects of the case’.

The appeal case is expected to take place before August of this year, the company says.
