National Grid PLC - London-based electricity and gas utility company - Completes the sale of Narragansett Electric Co to PPL Rhode Island Holdings LLC for $3.8 billion.
In March, it announced the disposal of the Rhode Island utility business to PPL. The sale is part of its strategy to shift its portfolio focus towards electricity and away from gas, following last year's acquisition of power-distribution company Western Power Distribution for £7.8 billion.
