Quilter PLC - London-based wealth manager - Hires Glyn Barker as chair, starting September 7. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval. Barker will join Quilter's board as a non-executive director from June 1. Ruth Markland will continue serving as chair until Barker's appointment as chair becomes effective.
Barker is non-executive chair of UK housebuilder Berkeley Group Holdings PLC, but Quilter says he will leave the Berkeley's board at its annual general meeting on September 6. He also has been senior independent director of insurer Aviva PLC, leaving at the end of 2019. As an executive, he was with accountants PwC.
