IN BRIEF: Dewhurst annual profit to be hit by costs of cyber attack

ALN

Dewhurst PLC - London-based electrical components for lifts and keypads - Following a cyber-security incident on May 23, says administrative systems are not currently fully operational. Notes manufacturing facilities remain operation and ‘continue to service the demands of its customers at most sites’. Says remediation process is underway, with individual sites likely to come back ‘gradually’. The cost of remediation will drag profit to be ‘materially below expectations’ in the full year, the firm says.

‘Following the cyber incident, the company immediately engaged external specialists and has taken precautionary measures with its IT infrastructure whilst it continues to investigate the nature and extent of the incident and implement its systems recovery plan. As a precaution the company has informed the data regulators in all required jurisdictions,’ the firm says.
