IN BRIEF: Powerhouse Energy partner wins okay for hydrogen facility

ALN

Powerhouse Energy Group PLC - Bradford, England-based hydrogen-from-waste plastic producer - Says UK channel partner Peel NRE, part of Manchester-based Peel L&P Holdings Ltd, wins approval for a hydrogen facility in Scotland. The £20 million 13,500 tonne facility at Rothesay Dock on river Clyde's north bank ‘will be the second site in the UK planning to use Powerhouses technology to turn waste plastic into hydrogen,’ Powerhouse explains.

‘Whilst the focus must remain on removing plastic from society, there are still end of life plastics that need managing. The plant will play a pivotal role in making the best use of non-recyclable material, with the resulting hydrogen able to help cut carbon emissions from vehicles,’ says Richard Barker, development director at Peel NRE. The NRE stands for natural resources & energy.
