Games Workshop expects annual revenue and profit hike

ALN

Games Workshop Group PLC on Tuesday said it expects an annual earnings rise and added it has handed out £10 million worth of staff bonuses in its recently-ended financial year.

The Nottingham-based miniature wargames maker expects core revenue of £385 million for the year ended May 29, up from £353 million a year earlier.

Games Workshop expects royalties of £28 million, up 75% from £16 million.

The FTSE 250 stock expects pretax profit of £155 million, up 2.6% from £151 million. Its bottom line had shrunk 3.7% annually to £88.2 million in the first half, so Games Workshop has enjoyed somewhat of a turnaround in the second half.

The company has declared dividends totalling 235 pence per share, unchanged from the prior year. It also said it has paid £10 million to staff during the financial ear, down 23% from £13 million a year earlier.

Games Workshop will announce annual results on July 26.

Games Workshop shares were 2.4% lower at 6,260.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
