DCC expects ‘another year of profit growth’ after good first quarter

ALN

- DCC PLC on Friday said it delivered strong growth in its first quarter, driven by DCC Energy.

For the ‘seasonally less significant’ first quarter of its financial year running to March 31, the Ireland-based sales, marketing, and support services firm said operating profit was in line with expectations and ‘well ahead’ of the prior year.

Strong growth from DCC Energy drove the performance, while DCC Healthcare traded robustly and DCC Technology benefitted from the acquisition of Almo.

The company added that DCC Energy has made a ‘number’ of bolt-on acquisitions, including the acquisition of renewable and energy efficient heating firm Protech in the UK, since its energy capital markets event in May.

‘DCC continues to expect that the year ending 31 March 2023 will be another year of profit growth and development, notwithstanding the challenging macro environment at present,’ it said.

Shares in DCC were down 0.6% at 5,139.00 pence in London early Friday.
