IN BRIEF: Greencoat Renewables buys its first solar farm in Ireland

Greencoat Renewables PLC - Dublin-based investor in euro-denominated renewable energy infrastructure assets - Buys its first solar farm in Ireland, north-west of Dublin, for an undisclosed sum.

The 80.5 megawatt peak Meath Solar farm is developed by Oslo-based renewable energy developer Statkraft AS and will become operational in the fourth quarter of 2023. Greencoat Renewables will buy a 50% stake in the east Ireland based farm, with the other 50% bought by a fund managed by Greencoat Capital LLP.

‘Statkraft will finance and manage the construction of the solar farm and will continue to provide management services once operational,’ Greencoat explains.
