MP Evans Group PLC - producer of Indonesian palm oil - Notes the recent announcement by the Indonesian government regarding changes to the palm-oil export levy. Says the revision eliminates the export levy completely, leaving only the export tax. It will be effective until August 31 and results in a reduced tax burden of between $55 to $240 per tonne, depending on the date and reference price. Notes that the Indonesian government will continue to charge a $200 per tonne export tariff until July 31.
