Prospex Energy PLC - exploration investment company with core investments in Spain and Italy - Receives approval for production concession at Podere Maiar gas field in the Po Valley onshore in northern Italy, lying within the Selva Malvezzi production concession. Anticipates first gas at Italy's Selva in first half of 2023. Prospex holds a 37% working interest in the Podere Maiar licence.
Chief Executive Officer Mark Routh says: ‘We are extremely pleased to have received the final approval of the production concession from the Italian regulatory authority, the Ministry of Ecological Transition. This allows work to commence immediately to connect the suspended Podere Maiar-1 well to the adjacent National Gas Grid operated by SNAM.’
Po Valley was awarded the Selva Malvezzi preliminary gas production concession, about 80.68 square kilometres, in 2019.
