Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust PLC - invests in listed and private US companies and is managed by Edinburgh-based Baillie Gifford - Net asset value total return minus 35% for financial year to May 31, lagging S&P 500 index's total return of 12%. Net asset value per share stands at 191.44 pence at end of May, down from 296.21p a year before. ‘It has been a difficult year. We are in a period of heightened geopolitical and economic uncertainty and the short-term outlook is unclear...What we remain focused on is trying to identify and own the exceptional growth companies in America,’ it says.
