IHG bookings disrupted by ‘unauthorised activity’ on tech systems

ALN

InterContinental Hotels Group PLC on Tuesday reported that parts of its technology systems have ‘been subject to unauthorised activity’.

IHG is a Denham, Buckinghamshire-based hotel chain which owns Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn, amongst others.

IHG's booking channels and other applications have been ‘significantly disrupted since yesterday, and this is ongoing,’ the company said.

The company has notified relevant regulatory authorities and is working with its technology suppliers. External specialists have also been engaged to investigate the incident.

IHG said it is working to restore all systems as soon as possible.

Shares in IHG were trading 0.5% lower at 4,590.00 pence each in London on Tuesday afternoon.
