IN BRIEF: Kefi shares up as rebel group calls for Ethiopia ceasefire

ALN

Kefi Gold & Copper PLC - Cyprus-based gold and copper exploration and development company with projects in Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia - Says the Tigrayan rebel leadership has called for a permanent ceasefire in Ethiopia. On Sunday, the communique asked for mediation by the African Union and participation in the national reconciliation process already being arranged by the Federal Government of Ethiopia, the company adds.

Kefi says that this development is ‘positive’ for the country as well as its Tulu Kapi Gold project. The project is currently clearing the last regulatory processes required ahead of the expected signing of financing documentation at the end of October. This will enable the project launch to proceed, it adds.
