Greencore Group PLC - Dublin-based convenience foods maker - Names Leslie Van de Walle as chair designate to succeed Chair Gary Kennedy in January next year. Says he will join the board as a non-executive director on December 1. Van de Walle currently is the chair of financial information company Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC. He is also a non-executive director at HSBC UK Bank PLC.
Executive Chair Gary Kennedy says: ‘Leslie brings a wealth of non-executive and chair experience across multiple sectors including food. I know that he will provide the board with strong and effective leadership and that he will be a great support to our incoming CEO, Dalton Philips, who has been involved in the process and welcomes Leslie's appointment.’
Says Van de Walle also brings many years of food industry experience and knowledge from previous senior management positions at Paris-based multinational food producer Danone SA, confectionery firm Cadbury Schweppes and food manufacturer United Biscuits PLC, where he was chief executive.
