IN BRIEF: Kosmos says typhoon hit vessel returned to quayside in China

ALN

Kosmos Energy Ltd - oil and gas producer focused on Ghana, Guinea and the US Gulf of Mexico - Says earlier this month, partner BP PLC informed Kosmos that the floating production, storage and offloading vessel being built for the pair's Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project was unmoored by a storm. The FPSO, being built in a shipyard in Qidong, China, drifted 200 meters off the quayside after mooring lines became compromised during Typhoon Muifa. Kosmos has now been informed by BP that the FPSO has been returned to the quayside of the COSCO shipyard in China. Says inspections conducted to date have not identified any serious damage. Plans to give a further project update alongside its third quarter results in early November.

The Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project is offshore Mauritania and Senegal in west Africa and is operated by BP.
