Panthera Resources to expand mapping following positive Bido results

ALN

Panthera Resources PLC on Wednesday said it has expanded geological mapping and sampling at its Bido project in Burkina Faso, following the completion of a geophysical survey.

Panthera is a London-based gold explorer with projects in India and West Africa. The 100 square-kilometre Bido licence is located in the Poura Birimian greenstone belt, 150 kilometres south-west of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso's capital.

Panthera said that the most recent survey performed at Bido, which covered the Beredo and Somika areas, had identified 28 strong induced polarisation anomalies. Several other mineralised domains are due to be tested, including the Kwademen prospect.

The company added that most targets correlate with outcropping mineralised vein systems, or extensive artisanal workings.

Recent gold in rock sample results showed several outcropping mineralised vein systems coincident with a handful of induced polarisation anomalies, including 42.2 grams of gold per tonne.

Results from further rock sampling are pending.

Managing Director Mark Bolton said Panthera will expand mapping and rock sampling in the remaining northern section of the survey area, following the ‘very positive results’.

‘The completion of the geophysics, together with the current geological mapping exercise, represents the final stage of the present work programmes in this part of the Bido licence area, which will then allow for future drilling campaigns to be planned and proposed for budget allocations,’ he added.

Panthera shares was untraded on Wednesday, last trading on Tuesday at 5.25 pence each.
