Tekcapital's Guident wins autonomous shuttle service deal in US

ALN

Tekcapital PLC on Monday said its portfolio company Guident Ltd has been selected by Boca Raton Innovation Campus to provide an autonomous shuttle service connected to a busy rail station in Florida.

The shuttle covers a 2.1-mile fixed route with 11 stops within the BRiC campus, connecting to the Boca Raton Tri Rail station in south Florida.

Guident commercialises new technology to enhance the safety, efficiency and utility of autonomous vehicles and ground-based drones using proprietary IP & software apps.

Tekcapital said Boca Raton is the most frequented station in south Florida.

Guident's patented software solution provides an added layer of safety for autonomous shuttle services, Tekcapital said, by delivering human in the loop supervision to autonomous vehicle fleets.

BRiC will upgrade its current traditional shuttle service with electric autonomous vehicles, bringing transportation innovation to the largest single-office complex in the state of Florida.

Guident Chief Executive Harald Braun said: "We are delighted to have been selected to provide an autonomous and remotely monitored shuttle service for the Boca Raton Innovation Campus. The campus' historic past and promising future make the perfect fit for our technology."

Shares in Tekcapital rose 3.6% to 18.65 pence on Monday afternoon in London.
