United Oil & Gas gets good flow rate test results for well in Egypt

ALN

United Oil & Gas PLC on Tuesday announced positive test results for a well in the Abu Sennan concession in the Western Desert of Egypt.

The test indicated a flow rate of 2,101 barrels of oil per day and 3 million standard cubic feet per day from the ASH-4 well. The well also flowed at 1,325 barrels and 1.8 million cubic feet when on a reduced choke, which is expected to be more representative of producing flow rates than the above maximum choke.

The London-based oil and gas firm said it expects to tie the ASH-4 well into its existing facilities and brought on stream in the coming days.

United Oil & Gas added its stimulation programme on the AJ-14 well is expected to be completed over the coming weeks.

"The ASH field has proved to be a prolific area of the Abu Sennan licence, and we are pleased to be reporting this positive well test result, as we move to drill the final well of the 2022 drilling programme," said Chief Executive Officer Brian Larkin.

Larkin added the final well of this year's programme would be at the ASW-1X exploration well, targeting 8 million barrels of oil as a gross recoverable resource.

United Oil & Gas shares were down 7.5% to 2.04 pence in London on Tuesday afternoon.
