Carr’s Group PLC - Carlisle, Cumbria-based machinery distributor and engineering firm - Picks Tim Jones to be chair. Jones will join the board on February 1 and take over from Peter Page as non-executive chair at the annual general meeting that month. Page then will switch from executive chair to chief executive officer, a move announced back in August. Jones is currently the non-executive chair of Treatt PLC. The Bury St Edmunds-based natural extracts and ingredients supplier back in June had said Jones would retire as chair on January 27. It promoted Non-Executive Director Vijay Thakrar to chair in his place.
Shares in Carr’s Group were hit last week after it announced a delay to the release of its financial year 2022 results, due to concerns about the independence of its auditors. The delay will result in Carr’s Group shares being temporarily suspended from trading in January.
