Britvic PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed Ian Durant, the former chair of Greggs PLC, as chair designate from February 1.
Durant will replace outgoing chair John Daly on the Hertfordshire, England-based soft drinks maker’s board. Daly plans to retire in the summer of 2023, having been in post since 2017.
Durant’s ‘early appointment will allow for a meaningful handover period, as part of a planned succession,’ Britvic explained.
Besides being chair of Greggs from May 2013 until the start of last month, Durant was chair of DFS Furniture PLC from 2017 until last month as well, and chair of Capital & Counties Properties PLC from 2010 to 2018.
Britvic shares were 1.0% lower at 806.00 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
