Vesuvius names John Wood’s Mark Collis as new chief financial officer

ALN

Vesuvius PLC on Thursday appointed John Wood Group PLC’s Mark Collis as its new chief financial officer.

Vesuvius is a FTSE-250 London-based molten metal flow engineering firm. Its shares were down 4.4% at 403.80 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.

Collis will succeed Guy Young as CFO, who will step down from the board on February 17, 2023.

Back in September, Vesuvius said that Young will leave the firm, after spending over seven years at the company.

Collis is currently CFO of the Operations business of John Wood Group PLC. John Wood is an energy sector-focused engineering and consulting business based in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Vesuvius said Collis will join no later than July 4. In the meantime, Richard Sykes will act as the company’s interim CFO.

Sykes is currently group vice president, business development, and has held a number of senior finance and business roles within Vesuvius since joining the company in May 1991.

Chief Executive Patrick Andre said: ‘I very much look forward to welcoming Mark to Vesuvius. His international operational experience and leadership skills will fit very well into our strong performance oriented culture. I have no doubt that he will be a great leader for our finance and IT functions and a valued successor to Guy Young.’
