QinetiQ Group wins £80 million contract with UK Ministry of Defence

ALN

QinetiQ Group PLC on Monday said it had won an £80 million contract with the UK Ministry of Defence.

The Hampshire, England-based science and engineering company operating primarily in the defence and security markets said the contract will provide ‘expertise, training and support to accelerate and transform mission data production’.

‘This will enable military platforms and personnel, from the UK and its allies, to be better protected in a rapidly changing threat landscape and enhance the performance of our advanced military systems,’ the company said.

QinetiQ said the 10-year contract would see them provide the MoD with specialist mission data and electronic warfare solutions, as well as training and IT support.

The company said the contract win reflects its extensive experience in electronic warfare, mission data analysis and communication services.

Chief Executive Officer James Willis said: ‘We are delighted to be selected as the MoD’s industry partner for mission data. The contract demonstrates how the MoD works closely with industry to build the skills of the future and introduce innovative approaches to enhance mission capability.

‘Our team is harnessing the value delivered by small and medium sized companies and our academic partners. We look forward to working together in partnership with the MoD delivering the next generation of mission data.’

QinetiQ shares were up 0.1% trading at 342.20 pence per share on Monday morning in London
