Molten Ventures Chair Slatford steps down after nearly seven years

ALN

Molten Ventures PLC on Tuesday said that Chair Karen Slatford has decided to retire, after nearly seven years in the post.

The London-based venture capital firm said Slatford will step down immediately due to health reasons.

Slatford has been chair of Molten since June 2016, when the company was admitted to AIM. Molten noted that she also played a ‘crucial role’ in the company’s move to the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market in 2021.

‘As chair, Karen has been responsible for leading an effective board, upholding high standards of corporate governance throughout the group, and ensuring Molten’s strategic focus and direction,’ the company said.

Molten’s Senior Independent Director Grahame Cook has been appointed as interim chair, in addition to his existing role as chair of the Audit, Risk & Valuations Committee.

The company will now conduct a search for Slatford’s permanent successor.

Chief Executive Martin Davis said: ‘Karen will be a hard act to follow, she has provided invaluable leadership to myself, the executive team and the Company as a whole, for which we are all deeply grateful. Her influence in growing the business to where it is today cannot be underestimated and we all wish her the very best.’

Shares in Molten Ventures were up 1.5% to 423.64 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
