Sosandar goes bricks-and-mortar in deal for sales in Sainsbury stores

ALN

Sosandar PLC on Monday said it will start selling a collection of its products via the supermarkets of J Sainsbury PLC.

Sosandar is a Wilmslow, Cheshire, England-based women’s clothing retailer.

The contract will begin online only before expanding to select Sainsbury’s physical stores later in the year. The partnership marks Sosandar’s first in-store presence, allowing it to become a ‘truly omnichannel retailer’.

This will ‘[further diversify] its route to market and [increase] brand awareness across its target demographic, whilst driving growth sales and [profit before tax],’ Sosandar said.

‘This new relationship comes off the back off a record period of trading with our existing third parties and is testament to the strength of our brand and product range as it continues to resonate with customers,’ said Co-Chief Executive Officers Ali Hall and Julie Lavington.

The company said that sales to date from online partnerships with John Lewis Partnership, Marks & Spencer Group PLC, The Very Group, and JD Williams have been ‘extremely strong, with a record quarter delivered through third parties in the third quarter of financial year 2023.’ Sosandar’s financial year ends on March 31, with its third quarter running from October to December.

Sosandar shares were 10% higher at 23.15 pence each in London on Monday morning.
