OnTheMarket PLC on Tuesday said it hired Brand Architekts Group PLC’s Tom Carter as chief financial officer.
The property portal operator said Carter is currently serving a six month notice period with beauty brand business Brand Architekts, having been CFO there since 2020.
OnTheMarket said it will make further announcements regarding his joining date in due course, while it has appointed Simon Bullock as interim CFO with immediate effect to provide a transition between outgoing CFO Clive Beattie’s departure this coming Friday and Carter joining the board.
OnTheMarket said Carter brings a wealth of finance experience, having led Brand Architekts’ recent acquisition of Innovaderma.
He previously served as group finance and operations director at technology company Technetix Group Ltd, alongside other financial roles at Alliance Boots, BSkyB PLC and Procter & Gamble Co.
Interim CFO Bullock has 30 years of finance experience, including more than 20 years at CFO level, OnTheMarket said. He will not join the board.
Non-Executive Chair Christopher Bell said Carter’s ‘proven experience will be a great asset to the team as we continue with our strategy of building a tech-enabled property business.’
Carter said: ‘OnTheMarket is widely recognised as a leader in the industry, and this is an exciting time to be joining the business. I look forward to working with Jason and the team to further differentiate the proposition and build a ’one-stop-shop’ for agents and housebuilders across the entire property ecosystem.’
Brand Architekts said Carter will remain until no later than July and the board is looking for a successor. It added that trading in the first half of the year ended December 31 was in line with the board’s expectations.
Brand Architekts intends to announce its interim results in late March.
Shares in OnTheMarket were up 2.1% to 74.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning, while shares in Brands Architekts were up 1.9% to 27.00p each.
