Severn Trent promotes director Helen Miles to CFO as Bowling to retire

ALN

Severn Trent PLC on Wednesday said James Bowling will retire as chief financial officer and executive director in July this year.

The Coventry-based water company said Bowling will be replaced by Helen Miles, who is currently the capital and commercial services director as well as the CFO of Severn Trent’s Welsh regulated company, Hafren Dyfrdwy.

The company said Bowling joined Severn Trent in April 2015, and is retiring from executive roles to ‘pursue a non-executive director career’.

Miles will become CFO designate and an executive director of the company on April 1, and take on the role of CFO on July 6 after having completed a full handover process from Bowling.

Chief Executive Officer Liv Garfield said: ‘Helen is a highly experienced and commercial CFO with a detailed understanding of the water sector and a proven track record of exceptional delivery. Helen embodies our culture and values and has been instrumental in so many of our major initiatives over the last eight years.’

Miles joined the company in November 2014 as chief commercial officer. Previously, she was CFO at Openreach, part of the telecommunication company BT Group PLC. She also served as CFO at Homeserve UK, part of emergency repairs provider Homeserve PLC.

Shares in Severn Trent were up 0.3% at 2,825.00 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
