Galantas Gold reports ‘solid gold grades’ from Omagh project drilling

ALN

Galantas Gold Corp on Thursday said it found ‘solid gold grades’ in drilling results for three holes from underground platforms within the Kearney vein development at the Omagh project in Northern Ireland.

Galantas said hole FR-DD-22-UG-192 in the northern dilation zone intersected 6.2 grammes per tonne of gold and 46.6 grammes per tonne of silver over an 11.1 metre intersection. This included a higher-grade section of 22.5 grammes of gold and 170.8 grammes of silver over 2.7 metres.

Galantas said a deeper intersection on hole FR-DD-22-UG-192 recorded 14.4 grammes per tonne of gold over 1.1 metres. It plans further drilling to test the continuity of this new zone of mineralisation.

Lastly, hole FR-DD-22-UG-190 hit the B-lens, another vein running parallel to Kearney, according to Galantas. It found an intersection of 5 grammes per tonne of gold over 1.7 metres, extending the B-lens 16 metres south of hole FR-DD-22-UG-187.

‘Our exploration program at Omagh is consistently delivering solid gold grades, allowing us to hone in on further targets for follow-up drilling that is ongoing,’ said Chief Executive Officer Mario Stifano.

‘As expected, this under-explored deposit continues to yield promising results, particularly at the main Kearney Vein and the B-lens...We are excited to incorporate these results in our future mineral resource update to also help optimize our mine plan.’

Shares in Galantas were up 2.6% to 27.70 pence each in London on Thursday before midday.
