Enteq completes preliminary live drilling testing for tool Saber

ALN

Enteq Technologies PLC on Wednesday said it has completed the preliminary live drilling testing for its tool Saber in a hard rock environment at a test-site in Norway.

Ascot, England-based Enteq is an energy services technology and equipment supplier.

Enteq said the Saber tool drilled over 100 metre through granite. It noted that this demonstrates ‘functionality of key elements of the system and confirming that the critical flow diverter can operate effectively to generate differential pressure and maintain a constant steering angle.’

The company also said that it received feedback on the tool performance and noted some ‘minor’ engineering changes for implementation prior to commercialisation.

‘This encouraging performance has given the green light to proceed to additional directional drilling testing which is scheduled in North America and then customer field trials,’ Enteq added.

The company expects to release a further update after the financial year end, in early April.

Enteq also said that it has been short-listed as a finalist for the 2023 Offshore Achievement Awards, Emerging Technology category, alongside other companies working across oil and gas, renewables and other offshore industries.

Shares in Enteq were down 0.2% to 13.23 pence each in London on Wednesday around midday.
