Tekcapital says Guident collaborates with Auve on autonomous vehicles

ALN

Tekcapital PLC on Friday said its fully-owned subsidiary Guident Ltd signed a letter of intent with Auve Tech OU to provide remote monitoring and control services, or RMCC, for Auve’s autonomous vehicles.

Auve Tech is a Tallinn, Estonia-based maker of self-driving vehicles and autonomous transportation systems. Guident is a Florida-based software company focused on remote monitoring and control services that serve self-driving and autonomous vehicles.

Tekcapital, a London-based intellectual property investor, said the two companies plan to launch the Auve Tech Mica autonomous vehicle with Guident’s software to customers in North America in the second half of 2023. MiCa is a self-driving shuttle.

‘Collaboration is key to driving innovation and progress in the field of autonomous vehicles. We are pleased to have executed a letter of intent with Guident to have them provide our autonomous vehicles with their RMCC and monitoring service,’ said Johannes Mossov, chair of the management board of Auve Tech.

‘This will enable our SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicles to have state-of-the-art, remote monitoring and control upon delivery.’

SAE stands for Society of Automotive Engineers, which defines 6 levels of driving automation from 0, meaning fully manual, to 5, meaning fully autonomous. Level 4 such as MiCa means high automation, with human overriding the machine remaining as an option.

Tekcapital shares were 4.8% higher at 20.44 pence each in London on Friday morning.
