Dialight to appoint Qinetiq chair as non-executive chair in May

ALN

Dialight PLC on Monday said Qinetiq Group PLC chair Neil Johnson will become its non-executive chair on May 17, replacing outgoing chair David Thomas following the conclusion of Dialight’s annual general meeting on May 16.

The London-based industrial LED lighting firm said Johnson is currently chair of FTSE 250 science and engineering company Qinetiq. This is alongside being chair at Unbound Group PLC, the AIM-listed online retail platform, as well as being deputy chair of the Business Growth Fund, an independent investment company supporting UK small and medium-sized enterprises.

Dialight also said Johnson was previously chair of Synthomer PLC, Motability Operations Group PLC, e2v technologies PLC and Centaur Media PLC, as well as former chief executive officer at RAC Ltd and Cybit Holdings PLC.

‘I am delighted to be joining the board of Dialight and to be succeeding David. It is clear that there is substantial potential in Dialight and I am looking forward to working with the board of directors and the wider executive team to drive growth and shareholder value in the business,’ said Johnson.

Shares in Dialight were down 4.6% to 190.80 pence each in London on Monday morning, while Qinetiq shares were down 1.2% to 318.26p. Unbound was up 3.6% to 4.30p, Synthomer was down 3.4% to 125.75p and Centaur Media was flat at 51.5p.
