Tekcapital provides Microsalt update, e-commerce sales ‘encouraging’

ALN

Tekcapital PLC on Wednesday provided an operational update on its portfolio company Microsalt Ltd, a low-sodium salt manufacturer, noting first e-commerce sales of Microsalt shakers as ‘encouraging’.

The London-based intellectual property investment group also said SaltMe crisps continue to be sold throughout The Kroger Co, being stocked in Kroger stores and with efforts afoot to secure new store placements. This was alongside rising e-commerce sales.

Since launching in September 2022, Tekcapital said Microsalt shakers are currently stocked in over 500 stores, with first e-commercial sales being encouraging.

Tekcapital added it successfully completed ‘comprehensive’ testing of Microsalt with several major food companies, noting Microsalt was at varying stages of progress with these company’s respective tasting, procurement, marketing and packaging departments. Tekcapital said it will keep the market informed of further developments.

It also provided an update on its medical outreach campaign, noting direct outreach with free one ounce shakers samples for the medical community, alongside launching a direct market campaign for shakers earlier this month. This was in partnership with the National Pancreas Foundation and included access to approximately 100,000 medical professionals and 170 hospitals.

Shares in Tekcapital were down 0.7% to 15.40 pence each in London on Wednesday at midday.
