Aurora Investment Trust notes ‘disappointing performance’ in 2022

ALN

Aurora Investment Trust PLC said on Friday its decline in net asset value total return was affected by poor stock performances from Barrett Developments and Castelnau Group.

The London-based investment trust said its net asset value per share at December 31 was 203.45 pence, down 20% from 253.49p at December 31 2021.

Aurora Investment Trust said its NAV total return for the year was negative 17.4%. The company said its holding company Barratt Developments was the biggest contributor to Aurora Investment Trust’s NAV return decline, with a negative 5.4% impact on the overall return, while Castelnau Group contributed to a 4.3% drop.

Aurora recommended a final dividend of 2.97p for 2022, up 61% from 1.85p the year prior.

Looking ahead, the company eyes ‘potential for significant performance’ as Aurora Investment Trust reported a NAV return of 14.4% in the first quarter of 2023, up from the index of 3.1%.

Aurora Investment Trust shares were up 0.5% at 213.00 p each in London on Friday morning.
