SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Wincanton PLC, up 2.8% at 223.00 pence, 12-month range 187.00p-419.00p. The logistics provider posts a 2.9% increase in revenue for the year ended March 31 to £1.46 billion from £1.42 billion a year earlier. Pretax profit jumps 6.9% to £62.1 million from £58.1 million. Full-year dividend improves by 10% to 13.2p from 12.0p a year ago. Looking ahead, Wincanton continues to forecast results for financial 2024 in line with expectations, reflecting the challenging external economic environment.

Restaurant Group PLC, up 3.4% at 49.73p, 12-month range 25.06p-57.69p. The owner of restaurant chains including Wagamama and Frankie & Benny’s shares jump, as investors wait for the company’s annual general meeting on Tuesday. In the year-to-date the stock is up 48%, but in the last 12 months the shares are down 8.5%.

Manchester & London Investment Trust PLC, down 2.8% at 401.48p, 12-month range 318.00p-432.20p. The investor sheds some gains made so far this year. In the year-to-date, the stock is up 18% and over the past 12-months shares have rose by 9.7%.
