IN BRIEF: One Media IP launches new AI-detecting anti-piracy software

ALN

One Media IP Group PLC - Iver, England-based digital music rights acquirer, publisher and distributor - Says software platform subsidiary TCAT Ltd has launched new ‘TCAT Insight’ product to combat loss of income from music copyright infringement. Insight uses metadata, keywords and artificial intelligence to scan for copyright infringing tracks, including AI generated music. It can identify potential pirated tracks and unauthorised covers.

One Media Chief Executive Officer Michael Infante says: ‘This new software product is the result of One Media’s multimillion pound investment into TCAT, where the opportunities are growing in this fast-moving music technology environment...there is a strong pipeline of new additions to the platform that we look forward to announcing over the coming months.’

TCAT Chief Technology Officer Gareth Waller says: ‘Driven by machine learning, [Insight] enables clients to review the potential infringement and respond accordingly...This is very much an example of AI working for the benefit of the music industry.’
