IN BRIEF: James Cropper subsidiary expands coating capacity in the US

ALN

James Cropper PLC - Cumbria, England-based advanced materials, luxury packaging and paper products’ provider - Says subsidiary TFP Hydrogen Products is expanding its electrolyser coating capacity in North America over the next 12 months. Says output will increase threefold. James Cropper will benefit from the expansion as there is growing demand for coatings for proton exchange membrane water electrolyser components. TFP Hydrogen’s coating technology helps provide a lower long-term cost of green hydrogen production.

TFP Hydrogen is a green hydrogen technology company and electrochemical materials specialist.

James Cropper Chief Financial Officer Steve Adams says: ‘The fast-growing renewable energy and decarbonisation markets are creating an ever-greater need for novel and high-performance materials and our continued investment in the US facility provides a local supply and technical ground support for North American electrolyser manufacturers, as well as supporting a lean, short, supply chain, which enables rapid response to the significant demand increases the hydrogen sector continues to experience.’

Current stock price: 832.50 pence, down 0.9% on Wednesday
