Anglesey Mining hails progress towards drill at Welsh mountain project

ALN

Anglesey Mining PLC on Monday said it started the design, planning and logistics for the first round of infill drilling into the northern copper zone at its Parys Mountain copper-zinc-lead-silver-gold project on the isle of Anglesey in north Wales.

The mining company with operations in north Wales, Sweden and Canada said it would be the first infill drilling since 1974. Chief Executive Officer Jo Battershill said historical drilling hits included 7 grams of silver per tonne.

It added that its retained mineral processing consultancy firm Grinding Solutions Ltd informed Anglesey that metallurgical testwork will start later this month and will take around 10 weeks to complete. ‘This testwork has been designed to determine which pre-concentration method is the most optimal process to go into the plant design (dense media separation or X-ray transmission ore-sorting),’ Anglesey said.

CEO Battershill said: ‘We are cognisant that the market for junior resources remains very difficult. However, with an advanced base metals project located in the UK, the board believes Anglesey Mining can differentiate itself from the pack.’

Anglesey Mining shares were flat at 1.60 pence each at midday on Monday in London.
