ALN

The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Wednesday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Asos PLC, up 4.2% at 355.00 pence, 12-month range 320.33p-1,181.00p. Asos shares are on the charge after a difficult period recently for the stock. A decent update from footwear seller Shoe Zone PLC lifted sentiment towards the retail sector. Shoe Zone said trading since has ‘significantly exceeded’ management’s expectations. Asos shares are down some 65% from a year-to-date closing peak of over 980p.

----------

Hostelworld Group PLC, up 3.6% at 125.35 pence, 12-month range 66.48p-157.80p. The hostel booking company hailed its largest first-half ‘on record’. Revenue and gross merchandise value jumped 57% to €51.5 million and €339.5 million, respectively. GMV is the total value of bookings minus cancellations. It says its first adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation amount to €5.1 million, swinging from a loss of €5.2 million a year prior. ‘Looking further ahead, I remain very confident that our innovative, asset-light business model is well-positioned, well-financed and firmly on track to deliver against our long-term growth goals,’ Chief Executive Officer Gary Morrison says.

----------

Ten Entertainment Group PLC, up 1.8% at 285.00 pence, 12-month range 183.00p-307.28p. The ten-pin bowling site operator says sales rise 3.2% on-year in the 26 weeks to July 2. They are up 1.6% like-for-like. Ten Entertainment hails a ‘record-breaking Easter performance’, its ‘biggest sales week’ ever. ‘We are well set to continue to drive profitable growth in the second half of the year and to meet market expectations,’ CEO Graham Blackwell says.

----------
