SSE PLC - Perth, Scotland-based electricity generation, transmission and distribution - UK energy industry regulator Ofgem fines subsidiary SSE Generation Ltd £9.8 million for breaching its generation licence. Ofgem says the penalty must be paid into its voluntary redress fund no later than September 5. The regulator found that SSE had ‘secured excessive payments’ from the Electricity System Operator ‘during periods of what is known as ’transmission constraint’’.
