AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: Keywords recovers some lost ground; Emis jumps

ALN

The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers on AIM in London on Friday.

----------

AIM - WINNERS

----------

Emis Group PLC, up 25% at 1,910.32 pence, 12-month range 1,250.00p-1,914.00p. The takeover of Emis by New York-listed UnitedHealth Group Inc has been provisionally cleared by the UK’s competition watchdog. The CMA will report a final decision on October 5. The endorsement on Friday follows the CMA’s phase 1 probe finding ‘initial concerns’ that the £1.24 billion takeover, which was agreed in June last year, would bring competition worries. Emis shares hit this 52-week high on Friday.

----------

Keywords Studios PLC, up 2.6% at 1,488.00p, 12-month range 1,460.00p-3,056.00p. Shares in the provider of technical and creative services for video game production rise, easing some of the pressure on it. Keywords had tanked at the start of August after reporting organic revenue growth for the half-year ended June 30 slowed. The organic revenue climb moderated to 10% from 22% in 2022. Shares are down 16% in the month of August so far.

----------

AIM - LOSERS

----------

Celsius Resources Ltd, down 8.0% at 0.69p, 12-month range 0.61p-1.45p. The explorer for copper and gold in Philippines and cobalt in Namibia now believes Silvercorp Metals Inc is unlikely to make a takeover offer, so it is exploring potential offers from other suitors. Celsius had agreed to an offer from Silvercorp worth £0.016 per share. The offer was mostly in Silvercorp shares but was worth double the price of 0.8 pence at which Celsius had listed on AIM in London in January this year. However, following discussions with its shareholders, Celsius went back to Silvercorp to fetch a higher price.
