Blencowe says bulk sample confirms high quality graphite at Orom-Cross

ALN

Blencowe Resources PLC on Monday said China-based specialist laboratory, Jilin New Technology, has completed additional metallurgical test work on the Orom-Cross graphite project.

The London-based graphite miner operating the Orom-Cross project in northern Uganda said the 100 ton bulk sample confirmed that the project can deliver a high grade graphite concentrate.

This comes after Blencowe announced last month it had successfully completed a ‘critical component’ of the project’s definitive feasibility study, with the successful scaled commercialisation of the flow sheet within the bulk sample processing at the pilot plant graphite production facility in China.

Executive Chair Cameron Pearce said: ‘We now have proof we can deliver a very high quality graphite concentrate from Orom-Cross on a commercial scale, which is a key DFS milestone. In parallel, we are testing the upgrade of this concentrate to uncoated battery-ready 99.95% SPG (spheronised, purified graphite) and expendables as the next important step to significantly value-add our end products.

On Monday, Jangada Mines PLC noted Blencowe’s release regarding the completion of the 100t bulk sample. The London-based mining company focused on Brazil holds a 10% interest in Blencowe.

Shares in Blencowe were down 2.8% at 5.15 pence each, while Jangada shares were up 2.2% at 2.48p each in London on Monday afternoon.
