Horizonte Minerals co-founder & former chair David Hall dies

ALN

Horizonte Minerals PLC on Tuesday said David Hall, its co-founder & former chair, has died.

The London-based nickel development company, which owns two projects in Brazil, said it expressed its ‘deepest condolences’ to the Hall family, remembering ‘his leadership and the integral part he played in the establishment, development, and growth of Horizonte Minerals’.

Hall spent his early career in Africa, Europe and the Middle East after graduating with a geology degree from Trinity College Dublin, Horizonte Minerals noted, before becoming AngloGold Ashanti Ltd’s South American exploration manager and then ‘establishing numerous junior exploration and development companies, including Horizonte Minerals’.

Horizonte Minerals Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Martin said: ‘David was a much admired and highly respected professional in the mining industry having worked as an economic geologist in more than 60 countries over a 40-year career.

‘He was instrumental in the founding of Horizonte Minerals and will be missed by all that knew him.’

Shares in Horizonte Minerals were up 0.2% to 134.28 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
