Crimson Tide hires former Inmarsat executive as new operating chief

ALN

Crimson Tide PLC on Thursday said it hired Philip Meyers, a former executive of network provider Viasat Inc’s Inmarsat arm, as its new chief operating officer.

The Kent-based software developer said Meyers will assume responsibility for operational processes across the company with a ‘wide-ranging remit to prepare the company for scalable growth domestically and internationally’.

Crimson Tide said Meyers will review its process to ensure that its mpro5 smart app solution is not only provided as a full-service application but also prepared for growth via a partner model, ‘incorporating seamless integration’ to software and internet-of-things channels.

Meyers’ previous experience includes serving as general manager at space telecommunications firm HiSky Ltd. This followed five years at satellite communications firm Inmarsat, where he became vice president of technology after roles in sales and marketing.

Crimson Tide said Ben Miller also joined the company as chief marketing officer, bringing experience in digital marketing and having recently worked at business performance management software firm Loop.

‘We are very pleased to have secured the services of Ben and Phil, who I am sure will contribute hugely to the next stage of our growth story. These additions complete our operating board, and I am excited to see the results of their efforts,’ said Crimson Tide Chair Barrie Whipp.

Shares in Crimson Tide were up 3.7% to 2.49 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
