Adriatic Metals joins Boliden in green zinc production partnership

ALN

Adriatic Metals PLC on Tuesday said it joined efforts with Boliden AB for the purchase of zinc concentrates from the Vares silver project.

Adriatic Metals is a precious and base metals explorer and developer that owns the Vares silver project in Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Raska zinc deposit in Serbia. Boliden is a Stockholm-based metals, mining and smelting company.

The two companies are aiming to produce zinc and other valuable metals with the highest environmental, social and governance standards, Adriatic Metals said.

Adriatic Metals Head of Sustainability Vildana Mahmutovic said: ‘We are delighted to have Boliden with us, with the overall aim of creating profitability and growth in a responsible manner, with consideration for people, the environment, and society-all targets that the Vares silver project will fulfill. Adriatic Metals operations are well in line to support Boliden’s leading sustainability standards and best practices’.

Shares in Adriatic Metals were up 0.2% at 185.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
