Avingtrans wins two new contracts worth £14.5 million

ALN

Avingtrans PLC on Wednesday announced it has secured two contracts aimed at making safer nuclear waste for long-term storage, valued at £14.5 million in total.

Avingtrans is a Cambridgeshire, England-based designer, manufacturer and supplier of critical products and services to the energy, medical and industrial sectors.

The contracts have been awarded to Stainless Metalcraft, which is part of Avingtrans’ Energy & Medical

division. Metalcraft will produce stainless steel waste containers that will be used to store intermediate level legacy waste.

Additionally, Metalcraft will prepare concrete waste containers to support decommissioning of the now-retired fleet of UK nuclear power plants.

The contracts are expected to boost Metalcraft’s forward order book to over £75 million.

Avingtrans Divisional Managing Director Austen Adams said: ‘We are proud to be a part of this national mission of utmost importance. Winning these additional contracts is a testament to our production capability in Cambridgeshire and the incredible potential of our team members, who are highly skilled and ready to tackle these new challenges in the future decommissioning market.’

Shares in Avingtrans were up 4.4% at 407.00 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
