Vietnam Enterprise Investments Ltd - invests in listed equities in Vietnam - Net asset value at September 30 is $8.85 or £7.25 per share, down 5.5% from $9.37 and 1.9% from £7.39 at August 31. Total NAV at September 30 is $1.8 billion or £1.5 billion total. NAV total return is negative 5.5% in dollar terms, while benchmark Vietnam Index falls 6.6%. Company repurchases 1.2 million shares in September, compared with 391,143 in August. Also says the Vietnamese dong depreciated 0.9% against USD and 3.0% against pound in September. Portfolio Manager Dien Vu says Vietnamese market ‘witnessed early positive momentum in September’ but then ‘succumbed to profit taking triggered by a blend of domestic and international pressures’.

Current stock price: 579.20 pence, up 0.2% in London on Friday
