Maven Income & Growth VCT PLC - venture capital trust aiming to achieve long-term capital appreciation and generate income for shareholders by investing in UK smaller companies - Reports a net asset value of 40.87 pence as at August 31, down 4.4% from 42.74p at the same time a year prior. Net loss before tax widens to £1.6 million in the six months ended August 31, from £436,000 the year prior. Records a loss on investments of £1.2 million in the half, compared to a gain of £60,000 the previous year. Says the first half of its financial year was ‘challenging’ but says it nonetheless delivered a ‘robust’ performance, noting that its performance across its early stage portfolio has been ‘resilient’.
