Serco hires former Transurban executive to be Asia Pacific CEO

ALN

Serco Group PLC on Wednesday said it has hired Andrew Head, a former executive at Australian toll-road operator Transurban Group Ltd, as chief executive officer of Serco’s Asia Pacific region, starting immediately.

The Hampshire-based outsourcer said Head is an ‘experienced leader’ whose background aligns well with Serco, having worked in both the government and private sectors.

Head most recently spent 20 years at Transurban, Serco said, where he oversaw several key businesses, led a number of acquisitions and finished his tenure with five years as CEO of WestConnex, a major road project in Sydney.

Head’s ‘deep understanding of the market and passion for driving success make him a natural leader to guide our Asia Pacific operations,’ said Serco Group CEO Mark Irwin.

‘Andrew will join Serco’s executive committee where we hope he will play a significant role by leveraging his skills and experience to find new and innovative ways to support our clients in North America, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.’

Shares in Serco were down 0.4% to 140.70 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
