GSK PLC - Brentford, west London-based pharmaceutical maker - Jemperli, whose generic name is dostarlimab, meets endpoint of overall survival in phase III Ruby trial on adult patients with primary advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer. Jemperli, combined with standard-of-care chemotherapy, followed by dostarlimab, demonstrated a ‘statistically significant and clinically meaningful benefit’ to the patients in the trial. ‘Dostarlimab plus chemotherapy has become the only immuno-therapy combination to show a survival benefit in this broader patient population in this treatment setting,’ says Hesham Abdullah, global head of Oncology, R&D at GSK. Endometrial cancer is found in the inner lining of the uterus, known as the endometrium. Endometrial cancer is the most common gynaecologic cancer in developed countries, GSK says, with 417,000 new cases reported each year worldwide.
