IQGeo lands $3 million contract with unnamed ‘major’ US utility

ALN

IQGeo Group PLC announced on Wednesday that its software is to be used by an unnamed ‘major tier 1 multi-service utility’ in the US.

IQGEo, a UK-based geospatial productivity and collaboration software for the telecoms and utility industries, reported that the client will use its software to mobilise field workflows across its electric and gas operations in the US, which provide transmission and distribution services to over five million customers across eight states.

The five-year project, which has an estimated value of $3 million, will use IQGeo’s software licenses to support field crews managing the utility’s electric grid and gas network. IQGeo will also provide and maintain software licenses, as well as professional services for the duration of the contract.

IQGeo was able to win the ‘highly competitive bid process’ thanks to its ‘industry leading mobility and work execution software, and the ability to access and integrate the utility’s multiple geographic information system and operational data systems.’

The use of IQGeo’s geospatial system is also said to provide ‘a single integrated environment that reduces operating costs, improves network data quality, streamlines compliance reporting, and enhances grid safety.’

Richard Petti, chief executive officer at IQGeo, commented that this win marks ‘the beginning of a major investment phase for the utility industry as it redesigns its networks to meet net zero carbon objectives.’

A few months earlier, IQGeo secured two other major US utility contracts with an American gas network provider and a Canadian regional electric grid transmission and distribution operator.

IQGeo Group’s share price was up 3.7% at 305.00 pence each in London on Wednesday
