Gusbourne promotes marketing director Jonathan White to CEO

ALN

Gusbourne PLC on Wednesday announced it has promoted its marketing director, Jonathan White, to chief executive officer.

The Ashford, England-based sparkling wine producer had been searching for a CEO since September, following Charlie Holland’s resignation. He was replaced by non-executive director Mike Paul, who stepped in as interim CEO while Gusbourne searched for a permanent candidate.

Paul will now resume his role as non-executive director, the firm said.

Reasons for Holland’s departure were not disclosed, but he remained as a consultant for the company for a limited period to assist the wine making team during the harvest, and on other winemaking matters.

Gusbourne’s new CEO has been with the company since 2018, and had prior experience in the wine industry from working with independent wine distributor Armit Wines, as well as Berry Bros. & Rudd.

On Wednesday, Gusbourne also announced that its global sales director, Simon Bradbury, has been promoted to chief commercial officer.

Chair Jim Ormonde said: ‘The board are delighted to appoint Jonathan as CEO. In the five and a half years he has worked at Gusbourne, he has shown real passion and commitment to building the Gusbourne brand into one of the UK’s most prestigious wine brands. He brings an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business, along with great leadership qualities and significant wine industry experience.

‘The board would like to thank Mike Paul for his wise counsel as Interim CEO and supporting the ongoing strategic progress of the company.’

Shares in Gusbourne were untraded at 74.00 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
